VCI Ferrous Papers

Daubert Cromwell® offers a comprehensive line of papers to protect ferrous metals, including steel, cast iron, and chrome, from corrosion.

Nox-Rust® Vapor Wrapper® papers provide maximum, long-term protection:

  • Nox-Rust® Vapor Wrapper®
    VW35DVW35D is the industry standard for protecting steel, cast iron and chrome from rust and corrosion.A 35 lb./ 57 gsm neutral, natural kraft, saturated with Daubert Cromwell™ ferrous volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation.  Designed for long term storage of ferrous metals.  A protective layer of safe, odorless chemicals acts as a barrier between the metal surface and contaminants in the environment.  Also available nitrite-free (VW35DH).

  • Nox-Rust® Vapor Wrapper®
    VW60DA 60 lb./98 gsm neutral, natural kraft saturated one side with Daubert Cromwell's ferrous volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation.  Designed for long term protection of ferrous metals where a stronger paper is required.  Heavier basis weight than VW35D.  Superior strength and tear resistance makes VW60D ideal for packaging heavier parts.  Also available nitrite-free (VW60DH).

  • Nox-Rust® Vapor Wrapper®
    PC55DA 40 lb./65 gsm neutral natural kraft with Daubert Cromwell's nitrite-free ferrous volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation and polycoated with 6 lbs./10 gsm of polyethylene. Provides good barrier against moisture and grease together with excellent VCI properties. Excellent water shedding characteristics.Also available in 60 lb. (PC75D) for applications where greater tear strength and puncture resistance are required.

  • Nox-Rust® Vapor Wrapper®
    VW100DA 40 lb./65 gsm neutral natural kraft sheet laminated to a 40 lb./65gsm natural kraft with 10 lbs./16 gsm of polyethylene. Strong, rigid, laminated substrate resists tearing. Designed for long term storage of ferrous metals where additional strength and moisture barrier is required. Strong and moldable for packaging small parts. Nitrite-free.

Protek Wrap® provides excellent protection for ferrous metal:

  • Protek WrapProtek Wrap®
    PW30 A 30 lb. neutral natural kraft, saturated with Daubert Cromwell's ferrous volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation. Designed for general purpose wrapping of ferrous metal parts where no barrier is required. Competitively priced paper that outperforms comparable VCI products. Also available nitrite-free (PW30H) and waxed (PW31).

  • Protek Wrap®
    PW32 A 35 lb./57 gsm natural neutral kraft, single ply, coated with Daubert Cromwell ferrous volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation. Designed for general protection of ferrous metals. Also available nitrite-free (PW32H).

  • Protek Wrap®
    PW33 A 35 lb./57 gsm neutral natural kraft, coated one side with Daubert Cromwell™ ferrous volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation and coated on the other side with 8 lbs./13 gsm of specially formulated microcrystalline wax.  Ideal for hand-wrapping small parts. Also available in a 30 lb. version (PW31) and nitrite-free (PW33H).

  • PC50 Scrim for Steel Wrap, Heavy Duty ProtectionPC50 Scrim is a white, poly coated, 50 lb. natural kraft paper reinforced with tri-directional scrim.It has exceptional tear strength, making it ideal as sheeting material and interleaving between pallets and heavy steel rolls, and for wrapping irregular shapes and bulky equipment. It resists grease, oil and water, to work as an excellent barrier against contaminants in the environment that cause corrosion.

  • Choose from two corrosion inhibitor formulations:
  • PC50H Scrim -- Nitrite-free protection for ferrous metals.
  • PC50MPI Scrim -- Multi-metal protection.

Military Grades are on the U.S. Dept. of Defense Qualified Products List (QPL) for military specification MIL-PRF-3420 (Packaging Materials, Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor Treated, Opaque).

    VW35H

    A 35 lb./57 gsm natural neutral kraft saturated one side with U.S. Department of Defense approved Daubert Cromwell nitrite-free volatile corrosion inhibitor formulation. Approved by the Department of Defense and on the Qualified Products List (QPL) for MIL-PRF-3420G, Class 3, Style A, Form b. (Light duty, kraft, flat carrier impregnated with corrosion inhibitor.) Also available in 35 lb./57gsm creped neutral kraft, medium duty Class 2, Style B, Form b (VW35HC). Nitrite-free

Approved by the Department of Defense and on the Qualified Products List (QPL) for MIL-PRF-3420, Class 2, Style A, Form b (medium duty, kraft, flat carrier impregnated with corrosion inhibitor.) Also available in 60 lb./98 gsm, heavy duty class 1, style B, form b (VW60HC). Also available in 70 lb./114 gsm, heavy duty class 1, style A, form b (VW70H). Nitrite-free.
